Kirkus Reviews

Kirkus Reviews is the world-renowned pre-publication review of general trade books published each year. Kirkus Reviews previews (three to four months before publication) over 5,000 titles each year, including adult fiction and nonfiction hard-covers and trade paperbacks, as well as children’s and young adult titles. The evaluations cover mainstream publishers as well as university and small presses, and are written by specialists selected for their knowledge and expertise in their particular field. Kirkus provides the tough-minded but fair and balanced evaluations. Since publication began in 1933, Kirkus has brought to the attention of the reading public countless books that we know today to be the classics of American literature.
